It’s Friday (finally) and Friday to me says RED MEAT, particularly Burgers. But in this Recession what’s the next best thing to eating one? Recalling all the really incredibly tasty ones you’ve had.

Enter Press 195 which is my absolute favorite burger spot in Park Slope Brooklyn. They usually have a great beer list to compliment the food. My favorite burger is the California Burnin’ and it’s out of this state. It’s a healthy size burger topped with homemade guacamole, homemade salsa, Monterey Jack and jalapenos.

Other notable places include:

67burger, Forte Greene Brooklyn
Alchemy in Park Slope Brooklyn
So while it lasts, I urge you to head to Gourmet.com and check out the great content while it’s still around.

An article that caught my attention is the “Gourmet’s Favorite Cocktails 1990′s” which features cocktail recipies from 1941-2009. The website has great filter that allows users to search by spirit and season.

One cocktailed featured is known as the “Two-Dollar Cocktail” — which got me thinking, while we’re in a recession is there such a thing left?

Leave a comment and let me know the last great cocktail (or beer) you’ve had didn’t empty your bank account.
